A small group from the Rotary Club of Dover ventured out into the town centre one October afternoon to learn how to make sausages.
 
They visited Taylor Meats where they were shown by company boss Scott Taylor and sausage-marker extraordinaire Ricky Woods how the ingredients were selected and mixed before being machined into the sausage skins.
 
Scott Taylor explained they regularly produce at Dover ten flavours of sausages not only for his Dover outlet but also for his shops in Herne Bay and Ramsgate.
 
The club’s spokesman explained it is part of Dover Rotary Club’s activities is to go out into the community to study the professions of those who work locally.
 
“Mr Taylor saved us the embarrassment of club members trying to squeeze the sausage meat into the skins. We left that to the professionals. After being shown how they do it, I am sure we will now show more respect for the humble sausage,” said the media spokesman.
